The Cloud Weaver
Talking with children about death, disease, inevitability, and things that sometimes feel unfair and senseless can be challenging. About the hardest feelings, which are frequently labelled as “bad,” despite being aware that they are normal.
This beautiful fable gives pictures the ability to communicate. It lets you identify things straight away without going through the reasoning process. It provides us with magical instruments. We experience a range of emotions alongside the main character as he confronts the River of Sorrow, the Raging Forest, and the Abyss of Despair. The boy and the reader get very close. He gets unhappy sometimes, wants to be alone, and refuses to laugh, accept or speak to anyone. The narrative allows us the space to be silent, take in the world around us from non-obvious angles, and make our discoveries and experiences.
