Horror
This book is both a treasure and a joke (be sure to keep it hidden from your parents!) and has stunning pictures by Emilia Dziubak. It lists 20 absolute marvels, each carefully describing a different fruit, vegetable, or herb—both known and uncommon examples. Just imagine that tender red strawberry with its delicately sweet emotions. Wouldn’t you hesitate to put it into the blender if you just knew? It is unquestionably the first terrifying set of accounts including fruits and vegetables. About our awful heartlessness towards them. What’s there to be terrified of? Children understand that these stories are fantasies, just like those about terrifying monsters, young girls with matches, hairy wolves hissing, and cute little red-riding hoods. No, it’s the parents, again. They’re the ones shivering, their hair standing on end. However, if they learn about this book, tell them that all of these stories are false. They can be both humorous and horrifying, as any good horror story should be. They’re not meant to scare you (most likely, they’ll just give you goosebumps); rather, they’re meant to stimulate your imagination and play with boring everyday situations.
