Eighteen-year-old Helena Wiktoria, heir to a wealthy Silesian magnate Stanislaw Moll, returns to her hometown. The first weeks are filled with welcome parties and reuniting with family and friends – Helena, a young, beautiful woman, quickly becomes a social butterfly and life of every gathering she attends or hosts. But soon enough, she has to face the lonely life of a wealthy socialite, full of sycophants and unwanted marriage proposals. Seemingly, her only refuge is her relationship with Artur Wilk, her childhood friend, which, in time, evolves into a profound and troublesome connection. At the same time, Count Scholtz tries to win Helena’s family’s sympathy, and the young heiress must decide if she will accept the count’s advances… While dealing with the political and socioeconomic crisis in Silesia in the late 19th century, under the Bismark rule.
